North Carolina events › Closed, renamed and moved

Venues and events change names. This page lists North Carolina arenas that have been renamed, each with the official pages that say so, so a search for an old name still lands you in the right place.

The Greensboro Coliseum Complex pages return an error to our automated checker, so the First Horizon Coliseum row was read through a text summary and is the one to re-check first.

Leads We Could Not Confirm

These changes are reported by news outlets but not stated on an official page we could read, so we do not list them as fact: the Charlotte Hornets arena’s earlier name, the Charlotte Knights ballpark’s earlier name, the Charlotte amphitheater’s 2026 rename, and the Wake Forest football stadium’s current name (the school’s own pages print two versions). We also found no organizer or city page announcing a closed or moved holiday event. We add a row only when an official page states the change.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why track renamed venues?

Tickets, maps and old web pages often use the earlier name. Knowing both avoids going to the wrong place or missing an event.

How do I report a change?

Send it through submit an event or the corrections page with a link to the official announcement.
