North Carolina’s pro golf runs through Pinehurst No. 2 (U.S. Open in 2029), Quail Hollow (Truist Championship, May 10-16, 2027) and Sedgefield (GO by Raymond James, Aug 4-8, 2027). Non-guests cannot play No. 2, but they can play other Pinehurst courses and visit the golf museum.

Three places carry North Carolina’s pro golf: Pinehurst in the Sandhills, Quail Hollow in Charlotte and Sedgefield in Greensboro. Here are the dates the event sites have posted and how a visitor can see the courses.
Pinehurst No. 2
Pinehurst is the USGA’s first “anchor site.” After the 2024 U.S. Open, the men’s Open returns to No. 2 in 2029, 2035, 2041 and 2047 (Pinehurst). The U.S. Women’s Open is also on No. 2 in 2029, the week after the men. The 2027 U.S. Women’s Amateur is on No. 2 in August 2027.
Not confirmed: USGA pages give both Aug 2-8 and Aug 3-8, 2027, for the U.S. Women’s Amateur, and usga.org blocked our reader, so the exact days are not confirmed.
Can you play No. 2? Only resort guests and members. Non-guests can play Courses 1, 3 and 5 from April through October, and The Cradle short course all year (Pinehurst course information).
Golf House Pinehurst (the USGA museum and the World Golf Hall of Fame), 3 Carolina Vista Dr.: $10 adults, $5 North Carolina residents with ID, free for USGA members and kids 12 and under (Pinehurst).
Not confirmed: Museum hours: pinehurst.com says 10 a.m.-5 p.m. daily; the USGA’s own visitor page was reported as 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Check before you go.
Quail Hollow Club, Charlotte
The 2027 Truist Championship returns to Quail Hollow May 10-16, 2027 (Truist Championship); the event joins the PGA Tour’s Championship Series in 2028. The 2026 edition ran May 7-10, 2026, and Kristoffer Reitan won. Quail Hollow also hosted the 2025 PGA Championship, won by Scottie Scheffler. General ticket sales for 2027 were not open when we checked; the site lists hospitality.
Sedgefield Country Club, Greensboro
The tournament long known as the Wyndham Championship is now branded GO by Raymond James. The event site lists Aug 4-8, 2027, a full-field PGA Tour event at Sedgefield (event site). The 2026 edition ran Aug 6-9, 2026.
Not confirmed: The PGA Tour’s 2027 schedule lists Aug 2-8 (likely counting practice and pro-am days). 2027 ticket prices and the on-sale date were not readable.
SAS Championship, Cary
PGA Tour Champions players (the 50-and-over tour) play the SAS Championship at Prestonwood Country Club in Cary, Oct 15-17, 2027 (PGA Tour Champions).
Not confirmed: We did not find a 2027 Korn Ferry Tour or LPGA event in North Carolina, but we did not read those tours’ full schedules, so we cannot say there is none.
