Frequently Asked Questions
Are dogs allowed in North Carolina state parks?
The park pages we read say pets are allowed at the park on an attended leash, and keep them out of buildings. Swim beaches, ferries, forts and some cabins have their own limits. The table shows each park; the filter bar narrows it by region, campsites and swim areas.
What does Not stated mean?
It means the park page does not mention that item, so we do not guess. It does not mean dogs are allowed or banned there. Open the park page linked in the row.
Where does this data come from?
It is computed from the dog rule in our state parks dataset, which was read from each park page on ncparks.gov and dated. The rule text is kept in the file so you can check our reading.
